Floating the Salt River in Star Valley, Wyoming, is a must-do adventure for the summertime. It's always at the top of my bucket list and I try to fit it in as many times as I can. With its serene waters and stunning surroundings, floating the Salt River offers an unforgettable experience. Here are three popular sections that I’ve floated:

1.Auburn Bridge to Fish Fry: In my opinion, this section is probably the most adventurous and also the prettiest. With a mix of calm waters and mild rapids it’s a favorite among locals. The scenery is gorgeous as this float brings you through the winding section of the river that goes through The Narrows.

2. Creamery Rd to Swimming Pool Rd: I did this float most recently on July 13, 2024. It was by far the most calm and easy. This is the route I would take if I was bringing my kids or anyone that's not super comfortable in water. The river is pretty wide on this section so you don't have to worry about running into any willows along the way.

3. Swimming Pool Ln to McCoy Creek Rd: I would describe this route is a mix of the previous two. There was one tough section where we should’ve went right when we went left but we all made it out ok! You float under the most beautiful covered bridge on this path which I love!
