On Monday February 6th, I attended the Town of Afton's community roundtable discussion as a representative from the Afton Main Street Alliance. Here are a few notable updates from the meeting:

Afton Main Street Alliance: We've been working on bringing a Skijoring event to Afton in 2027. We've been able to secure support from the Lincoln County Fair Board. They've given us permission to use the former Cutter Track near the Simplot Fields as venue for the event. We plan to have a meeting in March with some people in the Skijoring circuit who have put on successful events.

Star Valley Chamber of Commerce: Bob King gave a few updates on the Chamber. They are updating their website www.starvalleychamber.com and will continue to feature small businesses throughout the valley and host monthly Lunch & Learns for the community.

Semi - Quincentennial Scavenger Hunt: Bob King also told us about a scavenger hunt that Lincoln County is hosting to celebrate America's 250th birthday. There will 20 historical sites throughout North Lincoln County. Maps will be distributed in May and families or individuals can go to each site, take a photo, and upload the photos to a website. Those who visit all 20 sites will be awarded a special coin at the coin ceremony taking place on July 4th. Each town was given the opportunity to print their own coins which will be available for purchase to those wanting the complete commemorative set.

Wall That Heals - Lisa Grimsley & Jay Conley presented about the Wall That Heals coming to Afton in July. Find more info at www.wallthathealsaftonwy2026.com
